Reflecting back on medieval times, can a man really be that chivalrous today or would that just be considered stupid? Unfortunately, the men of today don’t know what that legacy was all about, and most men have no idea about the revered Code of the Knights. On one hand, they swoon over men who show the slightest bit of chivalry, and on the other, women seem to be killing chivalry slowly! Back in the days of yore, men knew how to be chivalrous.

How to be chivalrous Many centuries ago, when the kings ruled, knights of valor and honor tread the earth. Knights used to take off their cloak and drop it over a puddle so their lady wouldn’t dirty her feet.

Do you secretly long for men to get up at the crack of sparrow fart, so that they can fire pistols at each other in order to defend your honour?

Or would you simply like a guy you’re dating to hold a door open for you once in a while?

There’s no question though that in the world of modern dating, the concept of chivalry is a thorny issue.

While some women might long for a handsome knight to sweep them off their feet (or at least offer them a seat on the tube), many quite rightly find the idea patronising.
